David Moore (formerly of Chamberlain) stopped by the other day to talk and play for Issue Oriented; with him came Adam Rubenstein, also formerly of Chamberlain. In spite of a shitty SD card, you’re going to hear the complete interview and performance on episode 44, which comes out next week. In the mean time, check out this video preview of David and Adam playing “Jericho” from David’s new solo record, My Lover, My Stranger, which he is currently supporting. A great performance - enjoy!

Check out old Episode Forty-Three. Thinks he’s a big shot.
First, there’s Chris Wollard (Hot Water Music, The Draft) talking about his new release, & The Ship Thieves. Ronen and Chris talked about the revelation of organic creativity, making music with friends, and the future of his efforts. Not to be missed.
Then Pulin Modi from PETA2 stops by to talk about veganism and vegetarianism, the environment, and to make a compelling case against bacon. It’s all in a day’s work for Pulin. (Email him at PulinM@peta2.com.)

The big four-two is now available for your listening pleasure. It features a great interview with (and performance from) Fake Problems of Naples, FL. Chris Farren and Derek Perry stopped in to talk about a whole smorgasboard of stuff, ranging from artistic integrity in pop music to the incest of the music industry, plus everything in between. Chris also performed “Heart BPM” (from the band’s new full-length, It’s Great To Be Alive) and “Mr. Rock and Roll Role” (unreleased).
Philly’s Good Old War then came by to deliver one of the most memorable and compelling performances we’ve hosted to date. Do NOT miss this one. Good Old War are currently supporting Only Way to Be Alone.
And Mansions sat in to offer an intimate performance of two selections from his distinctive catalog. His most recent release is called New Best Friends.
Plus Justin Brannan stops by for another installment of his new segment, “A Person Familiar With The Matter.” This time, Justin works over the Dow Jones/Happiness Index phenomenon, Somali pirates, and Coney Island. Justin gets the editor’s Best Quote Award for this gem:
“Coney Island cannot exist solely as the backdrop for your urban blight photo shoots on Flickr. Coney Island cannot sustain itself on your nostalgia, or for the 14 hipsters who just moved here from Michigan, dressed like lobsters, protesting like we’re razing the Amazon Rain Forest. Coney Island cannot exist just so you and 3 of your friends can go to Ruby’s once a summer and pretend it’s 1955.”
All in all, a great episode.
Oh, and see that banner at the top of this post? Producer & host Ronen Kauffman is riding his bike to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. To show your support, click to pledge (it’s tax-deductible)! Every donation counts, no matter how small.
